Mar.11--INTTRA, an ocean shipping electronic marketplace, has held a webinar to demonstrate its eVGM (electronic verified gross mass) software to assist compliance with the mandatory container weigh-in rule that kicks in July 1 worldwide.
Since the second half of last year, the company has worked cooperatively with a coalition of industry leaders and customers on technology to comply with the VGM amendment to the UN's Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) convention.
Based on this collaboration, the company has designed INTTRA eVGM for Carriers and eVGM for Shippers to enable compliance by effectively communicating and tracking VGM.
"The eVGM service was built to be flexible and easy to use, allowing for VGM transmission and processing under many different scenarios, as our customers have different processes and needs," said president and chief operating officer Inna Kuznetsova in a statement.
