Aug.8--MARINE and offshore e-marketplace ShipServe has signed up Hong Kong's ID Shipmanagement (IDSM), a unit of Investment Group Denmark, responsible for the technical management of 15 dry bulkers.
The company chose ShipServ because of its ability to offer advanced sourcing and procurement alongside its core offering of increasing transaction speeds and purchase efficiency, said the Shipserv statement.
IDSM will use ShipServ Onboard - an onboard requisition tool - to connect to ShipServ's web-based procurement platform, which will allow IDSM to upload purchase order information into its Navision accounting system.
Said ShipServ vice president Sharon Gill: "We are delighted to welcome ID Shipmanagement to the ShipServ community."
Said IDSM managing director Mik Stoustrup: "With the tools that ShipServ provides such as benchmarking and Match we are able to improve purchasing efficiency from the moment the requisition is sent from one of our bulkers."
ShipServ has ship managers and shipowners using its platform and services such as AP Moller Maersk, CMA CGM, Bermuda's Teekay Shipping and Hong Kong's Anglo-Eastern.
